Bessou will quickly become your weekend home away from home

You may have thought that brunch is solely reserved for egg benedicts, bagel with lox, shakshuka and BLTs but Bessou, a new Japanese eatery on Bleecker Street is changing the game. Bessou which means "home away from home", will make you feel at home as soon as you step through the door and into an oasis that is lined with art, books, well spaced seating and bright lights. Oh and that delicious smell of sweet curry coming from the kitchen only adds to the feeling of home. The menu features all Japanese comfort food, a deceivingly strong sake milk cocktail and even a matcha babka! The nuanced Japanese influence on each dish adds to the flavor and gives it an extra edge. For that one or two hours you spend in Bessou you'll forget you're still in NYC and not Japan.

Everything here is SO good. I cannot wait to come back here and hopefully mark it as one of my regular brunch spots. Next time I'll be ordering the babka!
