In contraste to traditional Italian food, Contraste is a mouthful of fresh air

Contraste was my favorite restaurant in Italy. Not only was the service impeccable but I loved the modern take on rustic Italian food. I would never think to pair smoked eel with potato gnocchi or put beef ragu in a savory donut with gravy but all of it- and I mean every single course of the meal was exquisite. Our host and waiters were accommodating, friendly and eager to please. They themselves are true definitions of what a foodie is and their recommendations proved to be great choices. I am so happy Contraste's tasting menu was my last meal in Italy and I cannot wait to go back and pay them a visit again.
